Counselling on Repeat Prescriptions

  • Patients receiving repeat prescription medicines may be asked about their response to treatment, adherence, adverse effects and any changes to their health or medication.
  • The pharmacist may provide additional counselling when there has been a change in dose, medicine, instructions or the patient's clinical circumstances.

Intellectual Property

  • All website logos, branding, content, text, graphics, images, video and materials remain PT Pharmacy intellectual property or licensed content.

Dispensary Terms

Pricing and Payments

  • The pharmacy may require confirmation of the patient's identity or the identity of an authorised recipient before medicines are released.

Delivery

  • Delivery times may vary depending on location, stock availability, prescription processing and peak periods.
  • Someone authorised must be available to accept delivery.
  • Proof of identification or verification may be required.
  • Additional delivery charges may apply for failed delivery attempts.
  • Patients must notify PT Pharmacy as soon as reasonably possible if medicines appear damaged, tampered with, incorrectly supplied or delivered to the wrong person.

Delivery Verification

  • PT Pharmacy reserves the right to request identification.
  • Prescription medicine deliveries may be subject to additional patient or recipient verification.

Third-Party Delivery

  • Delivery logistics may be outsourced to approved third-party service providers.

  • PT Pharmacy's liability in relation to third-party delivery services remains subject to applicable South African law.

Return of Medicines

  • Medicines and scheduled substances are subject to strict return requirements under South African pharmacy legislation and professional standards.
  • Medicines that have left the pharmacy's control may generally not be returned for resale or re-dispensing because their storage conditions, integrity and safety can no longer be guaranteed.
  • Patients should contact PT Pharmacy if a medicine has been supplied incorrectly, damaged, recalled, compromised during delivery or is otherwise suspected to be defective.
  • Returned medicines will be assessed by pharmacy personnel and managed or disposed of in accordance with applicable requirements.
  • Refunds, replacements or other remedies will be considered in accordance with applicable law and the circumstances of the supply.

Medicine-Related Complaints

  • Patients should report suspected medicine defects, adverse reactions, incorrect medicines, incorrect quantities, labelling problems, damaged packaging or other medicine-related concerns to PT Pharmacy as soon as possible.
  • Medicine-related complaints will be reviewed by the pharmacist or Responsible Pharmacist where appropriate.
  • Patients may be asked to provide details such as the medicine name, batch number, expiry date, prescription information and a description of the concern.
  • Where required, medicine-related complaints or safety concerns may be escalated to the supplier, manufacturer, relevant regulatory authority or other appropriate healthcare authority.

General Complaints Procedure

  • Patients and customers may submit complaints relating to pharmacy services, staff conduct, dispensing, online orders, deliveries, privacy or other services provided by PT Pharmacy.
  • Complaints may be submitted directly to the pharmacy through the contact details provided on this website.
  • Complaints will be acknowledged and investigated within a reasonable period.
  • The Responsible Pharmacist may become involved where the complaint concerns professional pharmacy practice, patient safety or medicine supply.
  • PT Pharmacy will endeavour to communicate the outcome of the complaint and any corrective action considered appropriate.
  • Nothing in this procedure prevents a patient from referring a matter to the South African Pharmacy Council or another competent authority where applicable.

  • Reasonable administrative, technical and organisational safeguards are used to protect personal and health information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse or disclosure.
  • Patient information will not be disclosed to unauthorised third parties unless the patient has consented or disclosure is permitted or required by law.
  • Where delivery or other service providers require limited information to provide a service, only information reasonably necessary for that purpose will be shared.

Hours of Pharmacy Services

  • PT Pharmacy operates Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 18:00.
  • Saturday operating hours are 08:00 to 17:00.
  • Sunday and Public Holiday operating hours are 09:00 to 14:00.
  • Online orders may be submitted 24 hours a day; however, prescriptions, medicine orders and pharmacist consultations are processed during pharmacy operating hours.
  • A pharmacist is available for consultation during the pharmacy's operating hours, including appropriate online or remote consultations.
  • Operating hours may change on certain public holidays or due to exceptional operational circumstances. Any changes will be communicated through the pharmacy or website where reasonably possible.
